AVAILABLE ON-DEMAND UNTIL JUNE 30
Join Elder Annie Smith St Georges for an official opening ceremony and virtual welcome to the unceded Algonquin territory. We want to recognize and respect the tremendous grief our community is feeling right now and welcome everyone to join the elder in a virtual smudge. For our friends who do not know, a smudge is traditionally a ceremony when we burn our sacred medicines to cleanse of negative and invite positive energy. National Indigenous History Month starts June 1st and this is our time to welcome and encourage all Canadians to join us in this journey of healing and learning. We welcome you to join our elders, traditional knowledge keepers, artists, chefs, drums and dancers in celebrating the resilience of our community throughout the month. For those who need access to further resources to healing and support please know that we will add to our site.
